Love Shoot – Sylvie & Luke are getting married!

Sylvie and Luke are tying the knot this Saturday!! This pre-wedding/engagement/love shoot whatever you want to call it was their practice run for what will clearly be awesome wedding photographs – do these guys know how to rock the camera or what?! Considering they are both musicians I suspect they will be rockin’ everything on Saturday, can’t wait!

Central Coast Family Photographer – First Birthday Photoshoot!

Maggie turned one recently and to celebrate this milestone she had her first photo shoot! I photographed her parents wedding a couple of years ago, so I just love getting to my old clients again and meeting their offspring!
We played dress ups in a birthday tutu, she showed me her “grumpy face” (so adorable!!), and had some family time down at the lake where we fed the ducks and blew some giant bubbles! What more could a one year old want?!

Central Coast Wedding Photography – Bec & Evan at Fernbank Farm

Fernbank Farm at Yarramalong would have to be my most favourite spot here on the coast! So vintage, so rustic, so pretty! The farmhouse is nothing short of spectacular and the incredible Moroccan style marquee complete with a Venetian chandelier is so unique, there’s nothing quite like it.
So here we have the perfect backdrop for the wedding of Bec & Evan, two adventurous souls who met online and knew they were MFEO (that’s made for each other, in case you HAVEN’T watched Sleepless in Seattle a bajillion times!).
Our mutual friend Dannii came out of floral retirement to create Bec’s stunning colourful bouquets which went perfectly with the bright magenta shoes girls wore. This was definitely one of the most emotional weddings I have been to, so many oh-so-good moments that were complete and utter tear jerkers- for myself included!
Bec’s Dad’s reaction when he saw her was priceless, he had everyone in tears! Bec & Evan decided to do a first look photoshoot before the ceremony, here again their reaction to each other was so heartfelt and emotional I was a blubbering mess! It’s my favourite moment when they see each other :)

Happy New Year! A 2015 Photography Recap…

So once again I fell off the blogging wagon…
I had made the decision it was time for me to break up with my blog, things just weren’t working for the two of us, I didn’t give enough time and attention and bloggy felt neglected. We had tried many times, but it always seems to end up this way! A few friends have convinced me to give it one more try, so here I am, bloggy and I are back together to give it one more shot and I have scheduled in blogging as part of my week!
So given I was such a slacker last year, we had better start with a recap! A few of my favourite shots from 2015’s weddings, portraits, awards and play time. I cut back on the weddings last year and moved more towards portraits, I shot families, kids, women, and boudoir. Some of those shoots I don’t have permission to post, and although I would love to share I completely respect the privacy of my clients!
Thank you to all my lovely clients for trusting me with your precious memories, I’m excited for this year and what it may bring! Julie xx

Central Coast Portrait Photographer- Glamour Modelling Portfolio Shoot

I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous young lady recently, isn’t she stunning?!! I think she looks like a young Miranda Kerr! We had a junior glamour session to start her modelling portfolio, and when I learned she was a budding ballerina…well I just had to make a tulle skirt! I love to photograph dancers :)

Natasha, it was an absolute pleasure to have you in front of my camera xx

Pearl Beach Wedding Photographer- Heidi & Blake

This was such a beautiful wedding from start to finish! From the stunning setting at The Outlook Cabana in Terrigal, where Heidi got ready and then met Blake for their first look- oh how I love these! So emotion packed and takes the pressure off for the rest of the day(plus no-one misses out on the party!). We then headed off to Mount Ettalong for some beautiful scenic shots atop the lookout before the ceremony at Pearl’s on the Beach. Heidi and her bridesmaid had spent the evening making a floral curtain to hang as a backdrop, and wow did this look amazing! So simple yet made such a statement!
You could not stop the beaming smiles and excitement radiating from these two during their oh so romantic ceremony lead by celebrant Sarah Tolmie !
Heidi looked absolutely incredible in her Amy Kuschel figure hugging gown, with make-up by Karen Dyer, Hair by Rochelle from Hair Junkie, flowers by Gai Hyde Flowers.

Sydney Wedding Photographer- Ann & Peter at Neilsen Park

Another special wedding from last year which I absolutely loved! Ann & Peter came for a wedding consult and we just hit it off immediately, you know like little kids who meet in the sandpit and become instant bestest friends?! So I knew I was in for a fun day with these two, but OH MY LORDY my sides hurt from laughing and my face hurt from smiling! And then there was the mascara runs. Yes, tears sweetie, tears!

Since they had no official bridal party and some timing conflicts with the venue, I suggested doing a first look photo shoot before the ceremony. Peter wasn’t keen but he came around to the idea, and after all was said and done absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone!

Ann was getting ready at the beautiful Sir Stamford Circular Quay, when she was ready Peter met her in the stunningly ornate lobby. Let me set the scene: one very excited super happy bride approaches her husband to be from behind and taps him on the shoulder. It’s just them(and me!), no other guests around, there’s opera music playing, he turns and is completely blown away and his reaction is one I would love to bottle and give to every Groom! She’s crying, he’s crying, I’m crying, were all laughing because we’re all crying…it was what you call  a “moment” for sure!

After a short photo shoot in the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens, we then headed off to the ceremony in the cute vintage cafe, Neilsen Park Kiosk. Cue more laughter, more tears, more fun! The reception was held in the hall at the back of the Kiosk, and it had been absolutely transformed by Alicia and her team from Form Over Function! Wow! The place was brimming with fresh flowers, candles in vintage crystal, horse shoe place markers and an incredible hand painted cake by Faye Cahill Cakes .

All Saints Woodville Wedding Photographer- Kalyce & Matt

Wow it’s been a long time since I blogged an actual full wedding! So I’m just going to start with random weddings from here and there, some favourite venues and locations and the like. Let’s start with Kalyce & Matt’s absolutely gorgeous wedding in Woodville near Maitland.

After postponing their initial wedding date, these two beautiful people just couldn’t wait to say I do! Kalyce got ready at the lovely heritage estate Maddie’s of Bolwara, then headed off to the quaint little chapel of All Saints Woodville where they also had the reception in the church hall marquee. There were tears all round when Kalyce stopped for a precious moment with her darling Nan before Matt took her hand and couldn’t take his eyes off her!

After the ceremony we went down the road to what I can only describe as photographer’s heaven- Albion Park Farm! The light was just perfect and the property is just abundant in amazing backdrops, I could barely BREATHE I was so excited! And then we got a rainbow. And then a spectacular sunset. Just stop it!!

Sydney Love Shoot – Kristin & Simon

Kristin & Simon contacted me to do a Love Shoot for them, as they were disappointed with their wedding photographs done in Bali a couple of years ago. So I suggested to Kristin we do a Glam The Dress shoot while we’re at it since she had no lovely photographs of her in her wedding dress. These were shot in the couple’s Balmain apartment using window light and a reflector, then we had some fun under the courtyard misting system-it was a 40 degree day! After a quick change in into a super cute polka dot dress and bow tie we headed off to Ballast Point Park when the storm rolled in and cooled things down for us with some rain. I LOVED the fact they didn’t care and just danced and had fun in the rain!
